Master Instructors

Sensei Earle began his Uechi-Ryu training in 1982 under Sensei Dave Sargent (Hachidan/Kyoshi/Shihan). Sensei Earle has held a black belt (Dan) ranking since 1985. In May of 2022, he was promoted to Rokudan (6th Degree black belt) and holds the honorary title of Renshi. He has trained with the Masters in Okinawa Japan and been certified by OKIKUKAI Okinawa as Shihan, Master Instructor since 2018.

Sensei Earle was named Head Instructor of the San Jose Dojo by Sensei Sargent in 2017. Sensei Earle is responsible for all dojo activities, leads all classes, and sets the training direction for current students. He is also a Board Member and current Vice-President/Treasurer of the OKIKUKAIWest organization of associated Uechi-Ryu dojos since 2016. 

Sensei Sargent ran the San Jose Dojo since the mid 1970's under the guidance of Sensei Carl Chrappa for many years before training under Master Ahti Kaend. After over fifty years of training, instructing and visits to Okinawa, Sensei Sargent has retired from everyday teaching to be the Senior Advisor to the Head Instructor and he maintains his Board Membership in the OKIKUKAI West organization of affiliated Uechi-Ryu dojos.
